Manawa joins Contact whānau
On 11 September 2024 Manawa Energy Limited (Manawa) entered into a Scheme Implementation Agreement with Contact Energy Limited (Contact) under which Contact agreed to acquire all of Manawa's shares through a scheme of arrangement (‘Scheme’). On 11 July 2025, Contact’s acquisition of Manawa Energy completed, and Manawa is now part of the Contact whānau.tr
Right now, Contact and Manawa continue to operate as two separate businesses, and we will be working to bring our two companies together over the coming months. Our intention is to be largely operating as one business by the end of the calendar year.
This means there’s no change for our customers, suppliers and stakeholders at this time. You will continue to connect with your current Manawa Energy touchpoints, and our systems remain the same. in Heading

On completion of the Scheme of Arrangement, Manawa shareholders became Contact shareholders.
